HGV Class 1 Tramper
Description:
We are looking for a reliable, experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tramping Driver to join our busy general haulage team. This is a great opportunity for drivers who enjoy being on the road and want consistent, long-term work.
The hours of work are as required by the needs of the business, Monday to Friday Tramping, UK wide. The role will involve 4/5 nights away from home.
You will be required to run-in on Saturdays, in accordance with the Saturday rota. As much notice as possible will be provided in advance.
Previous experience is beneficial, though not essential as full training will be given.
The salary for this position is made up as below;
Basic – £36,554.70pa
Bonuses – potential up-to £4,420pa
Nights Out – £29.70 per night tax free
Overtime – £15hr after 50hrs (average of 15hrs)
Hours of Work: MONDAY TO FRIDAY
Duration: Permanent
Duties will include but are not limited too;
Meeting fuel efficiency targets
UK-wide deliveries and collections
Ensuring timely and safe deliveries
Daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Staying out Monday to Friday (tramping – nights out required)
Complying with all road traffic laws and tachograph regulations
Completing necessary paperwork and maintaining accurate records
Desired Skills, Required Skills and Abilities:
Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Previous experience in a similar driving role is preferred
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
A clean driving record (with no more than 6 penalty points on the licence)
Good understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
Digital Tachograph card and CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification
